When you visit the website
This privacy information applies to the home page, industry pages, legal notice and privacy pages, and the contact form.
Your browser transmits technically necessary data to our web server when you visit. This includes your IP address, the date and time, the requested address, HTTP status, the amount of data transferred, browser information and, where provided, the referring page. The web server may store these details in access and error logs. IP addresses are personal data.
We process this data to deliver the website, keep it stable and identify errors or abusive requests. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of our website.
The website runs on server infrastructure managed by Megara. The connection between your browser and the website is encrypted using HTTPS. This notice covers this website; separate Megara applications and linked services have their own supplementary information.
When you contact us
The contact form requires your email address and message so that we can process and respond to your enquiry. A phone number is optional. We process any additional details only to the extent that you provide them in your message. The form cannot send without the required fields; there is no legal obligation to provide them.
Your enquiry is sent to info@megara.io. When you contact us by email or phone, we also process the contact details and information you provide in order to deal with your request.
For enquiries concerning a contract or steps prior to entering into a contract, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. For other enquiries, it is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is responding appropriately to your message.
The form uses technical session and delivery identifiers to prevent automated abuse and duplicate delivery. The server-side protection store contains timestamps, pseudonymised IP identifiers and checksums, but no message bodies, email addresses or phone numbers in plain text. The basis is our legitimate interest in a secure contact form under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Delivery through MailerSend
We use MailerSend, Inc., 228 Park Ave S, PMB 54955, New York, NY 10003-1502, USA to deliver form enquiries. Your email address, message and any phone number you provide are transmitted to this delivery service. MailerSend processes this data on our behalf for technical delivery.
The provider is based in the United States, so processing outside the EU or EEA is possible. Its published Data Processing Addendum includes EU Standard Contractual Clauses as safeguards for international transfers under Article 46 GDPR. The terms and safeguards are available at the link below; you can also contact us for information.
Open and click tracking are disabled for these form emails. No automatic confirmation email is sent to you. The purposes and legal bases described under “Contact & enquiries” apply.
Cookies, fonts & analytics
Opening the email form uses the technically necessary session cookie “megara_contact”. It associates form requests with a session and protects against forged or duplicate submissions. It is configured as a session cookie, with a lifetime tied to the browser session. Browsers may restore sessions when they reopen.
Storing or reading this cookie, which is necessary for the form function you explicitly request, is based on section 25(2), no. 2 TDDDG. The associated processing of personal data is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can delete or block cookies in your browser; blocking them may prevent reliable form delivery.
This website does not embed analytics or marketing services such as Google Analytics or WordPress Stats. The Urbanist font, images, stylesheets and scripts are served locally. Loading the font does not establish a connection to Google Fonts.
How long data is kept
Retention depends on the purpose. Contact enquiries are kept for as long as needed to process them and handle necessary follow-up questions. Data may be kept longer where statutory retention duties apply or where needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Statutory retention is based on Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
Entries in the form’s technical protection store are removed on the next processing operation after 24 hours have elapsed. This period applies only to technical protection identifiers, not to the delivered email or its storage in the mailbox and by the delivery service.
Access and error logs are rotated daily and retained for no more than 30 days during normal operation. Automatic cleanup also considers the age of entries in existing log archives. This period supports retrospective error analysis and detection of abusive access. Only evidence needed for a specific error or security incident may be retained separately until the necessary investigation is complete; it is then deleted unless further retention is required by law.
Your rights
Subject to the relevant legal conditions, your rights include:
- Access to your personal data (Article 15 GDPR).
- Rectification of inaccurate data and completion of incomplete data (Article 16 GDPR).
- Erasure or restriction of processing (Articles 17 and 18 GDPR).
- Data portability for automated processing based on consent or a contract (Article 20 GDPR).
- Withdrawal of consent at any time with effect for the future (Article 7(3) GDPR). This does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing.
You can object.
Where we process data under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21 GDPR). Please contact info@megara.io.
You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Article 77 GDPR), particularly in the country of your habitual residence, place of work or the alleged infringement. The authority in Brandenburg is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Access to Information, Stahnsdorfer Damm 77, 14532 Kleinmachnow, Germany.
This website does not use automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.
